R. David Weaver, Senior Director
Having
tried scores of jury trials and having appeared at hundreds of contested
hearings, Mr. Weaver’s 30 years of practice in North Texas has
encompassed multitudes of complex legal disputes ranging from serious
injury cases (for both the prosecution and defense) to multi-party
commercial litigation. He is known for his effective advocacy skills
and his almost encyclopedic knowledge of law and procedure. At the same
time, Mr. Weaver is noted for his ability to transform complicated legal
concepts into plain language so that clients, jurors and judges are able
to quickly grasp the factual and legal issues that apply in a given
case. Mr. Weaver began his legal career with a respected large firm in
downtown Fort Worth, and he has for more than 21 years owned and managed
his own firm.
Prior to joining the legal profession, Mr. Weaver was an award winning journalist and educator at Baylor University. Mr. Weaver currently is an instructor of Evidence & Investigative Procedures and Alternative Dispute Resolution at the University of Texas at Arlington.
Mr. Weaver earned his Juris Doctor degree with honors from Baylor University School of Law in 1982. Since that time, he has been engaged in the following areas of practice: Alternative Dispute Resolution, General Business and Commercial Matters, Construction Law, Commercial Litigation, Insurance & ERISA Matters, Federal Income Tax and Local Property Tax Matters, and Real Estate Matters.
Mr. Weaver is a member of the following professional associations: Arlington Bar Association (Director, 1999-2002); Tarrant County Bar Association (Speaker’s Bureau and Media Relations Committee); State Bar of Texas; and Member of Phi Alpha Delta Legal Fraternity. He is admitted to practice in all State Courts and the United States District Courts for the Northern and Eastern Districts of Texas.
Mr. Weaver is the recipient of the following honors and awards: Leon Jaworski Law Scholarship, 1980-1981; McLennan County Bar Auxiliary Law Scholarship, 1981-1982; Baylor Law Review, Associate Editor, Research Topics Editor, 1981-1982; Dean’s List at McLennan Community College (1972, 1978-1979); Baylor University (1979-1980); Baylor University School of Law (1980-1982); Texas State Teachers Association School Bell Award for Excellence in Journalism (1973).

Mr. Weaver is a Member of St. Alban's Episcopal Church, Waterchase Golf Club and the Brotherhood of St. Andrew. Mr. Weaver is married with four daughters and seven grandchildren. Mr. Weaver is the vice-chancellor for the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth, and is Chairman of the Committee on Constitution and Canons for the Episcopal Diocese of Fort Worth. He is a voracious reader, devoted baseball fan avid golfer and skilled poker player.
